Maintaining cleanliness shouldn’t stop at the workplace. Our homes and surrounding communities are just as important when it comes to environmental hygiene. Unfortunately, trash scattered along streets, clogged drainage channels, and littered green spaces are sights we encounter all too often.
We cannot let these bad habits become part of our culture. We must put an end to littering so that our environment remains pleasant and our community stays healthy, disease-free and disasters.
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, PT CKD OTTO Pharmaceuticals donated trash bins to Cicau Village. During the event, the donation was presented by Mr. Albert Yusuf, General Affairs Assistant Manager, and received by Mr. Harto Muksit Al Hakimi, Secretary of Cicau Village.
As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), PT CKD OTTO strives to support the surrounding community in maintaining a clean environment. Environmental cleanliness remains a critical issue that requires ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
Educating the community on proper waste segregation is one of our key priorities. Beyond making collection easier for waste management personnel, properly sorted waste can be recycled into useful products.
There are three main types of waste that we should recognize and separate:
- Organic Waste
Waste derived from living organisms (plants and animals) that decomposes naturally.
Examples: Food scraps, fruit peels, and dry leaves.
- Anorganic Waste
Waste made from non-living materials that is difficult to break down or takes a very long time to decompose naturally.
Examples: Plastic bottles, cans, and plastic bags.
- Hazardous Waste
Waste containing toxic substances that can harm the environment and human health.
Examples: Used batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and aerosol/insecticide spray cans.
Maintaining environmental cleanliness—both in the workplace and in our residential areas is a shared responsibility.
